Brother and Sister Kaiser 

Uganda Kampala Mission 

The Beginnings and Journey there: 

  • We begin our mission on August 25, 2025 at the Provo Missionary Training Center with training for 5 days.
  • To get to Uganda we will depart on September 1, 2025 from the Salt Lake City Airport to Atlanta Georgia, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport ,with a 5 hour layover.
  • Departing Atlanta at 5:40 pm we will then fly to Amsterdam arriving at Schiphol Airport at 8 am on September 2.
  • The last leg of our journey will be departing Amsterdam on September 2 for Entebbe International Airport in Uganda arriving at 10:50 pm.
  • We expect to be picked up and taken to an apartment where we will rest, meet the new Mission President and his wife and get our location assignment.

Training & Travel TRAINING: As we arrived at the Provo Missionary Training Center, MTC, we were guided by kind, friendly volunteers to the area where we to park Kirk's 1995 Ford Ranger, which once belonged to his dad.  It is now in the care of our son Shane who likes the idea of having a vehicle that can haul things, at least for one year.  I've been waiting a long time for this badge.   I put Elder Kaiser's badge on him and I made him put mine on for me. It was a tiny private ceremony followed up with a kiss. We received a key card to enter buildings and were taken to a room where we met more volunteers who, through a series of brief questions, made sure we would have all of our needs met while at the MTC and were prepared to leave to our assigned mission area. We also received helpful information and materials, one of which was receiving our ministerial cards.                        Meetings and Moving   Meeting the Mission President and our first opportunity to go church.      We met our mission president and his wife, President and Sister Bell, at a meeting on the evening of September 6.  They were traveling in the mission when we arrived in Kampala.  We were able to get a better understanding of our area and needs and get to know them.  We will all travel together with them to Gulu, Uganda on Tuesday, September 9, along with the 2 assistants to the president, young missionaries.  While there we will attend some meetings with local church leaders and missionaries. Once we get settled and understand our assignment we will be off and running!
